Information released by the Centers for Disease Control-High School Youth Risk Behavior Survey indicates the following:
Nationally, 5.0 percent of students, “Did not go to school because they felt unsafe at school or on their way to or from school on at least 1 day” (during the 30 days before the survey).

Arkansas: 14.0
Alabama: 9.6
Louisiana: 9.1
Hawaii: 7.9
West Virginia: 7.8

Nationally, 10.5 percent of girls and 4.5 percent of boys state that they were “Ever forced to have sexual intercourse.”
The five states with the highest percentages of female students raped include:
1. Arkansas: 18.5
2. Alaska: 17.9
3. West Virginia: 17.8
4. Kentucky: 17.4
5. Missouri: 17.0
