About the Authors

June 3, 2009

I am an adjunct Associate Professor and criminal justice specialist working a management position for a government agency. I created this website to learn web development and search engine marketing and to provide my college students with sources of information.  I also work with government and non-profit agencies (at no charge) in their development of social media and meaningful exchanges with the public.

Criminologists and criminal justice experts guide me as to posts and administration. They are also adding their own posts. They teach criminology and criminal justice courses and contribute material to assist their classes.

All writings are our own and do not represent the views of the agencies we work for.

In retirement, I will take Crime in America.Net in other directions.

Much of the crime related material you see on the Internet is based on selling you a product or a service. I’m not trying to sell you anything and I’m not asking for anything. I simply believe that ten years as a crime prevention information specialist and spokesperson for national federally funded agencies plus four decades in the criminal justice system plus two advanced university degrees plus hundreds of research based books and reports I’ve read plus conversations with victims, police officers and criminal offenders leads me to conclusions as to the best criminal justice material to offer.

I am doing a research paper on Cyber Crime. I went to cite the information and can not find an author. Even on the About the Author page it has no name. Am I missing it or not looking in the correct place?

Thank You
Melinda Heath

Hi Thanks for writing. Simply use Crime in America.Net staff as the authors. Your professor will accept it (as we do from our students).
